Q. What is yoga?
A. Yoga is a physical art form that dates back 5,000 years. Translated, the word "yoga" means to yoke or bind, as in a combination of the mind and body. The study of postures is one of yoga's eight elements and is widely practiced today. In fact, yoga postures are considered the original isometrics. Flexing and simultaneously stretching improves the muscle system; weight bearing postures promote bone density and strength; focus and concentration sharpen the mind; and breath awareness eases the taxed nervous system. Together these combine for total body health.

Q. Is Yoga a religion ?
A.This is a common question and the answer is NO. It does have its roots in Eastern philosophy; however, it is widely accepted in our Western culture as an effective adjunct to medical and mental health treatment as well as personal improvement and productivity training. We often take quiet time in the beginning or end of our classes, which is a time for you to reflect on the state of your body and mind. This time insures that you get the most from your class and leave feeling restored and relaxed.

Q. How do I know which class is best for me?
A.This depends on your experience. If you are new to Yoga, a beginners' class or any of our gentle classes would be best. Always feel free to speak with our highly qualified staff of instructor to help you make the right choice.

Q. Do I have to be Flexible to do Yoga?
A. No. Yoga is a wonderful practice for all types of bodies - building strength where you are weak, increased flexibility where you are tight and ease of mind when you are stressed. Depending on the class you take, yoga as beneficial for the active athlete as it is those recovering from injuries.

Q. How do I know which class is best for me?
