Kay Baker is a former triathlete who became a certified Yoga instructor through Yoga Alliance in 2007.  Her knowledge, experience and commitment distinguish her teaching, and her classes are grounded in an obvious knowledge of body mechanics and anatomy.  She appreciates the athletes’ need for challenging, vigorous, and powerful exercise, and is able to combine that need with thoughtful and effective sequencing and postures.  Her classes are geared towards achieving the maximum benefit of a yoga practice through alignment and balance, which in turn, benefits all other forms of physical activity.

Shannan Billings, a practicing Virginia Tech Chemical Engineer and Certified Six Sigma Black Belt whose 25 years of dance training lead her to teach fitness in such places as Virginia, Iowa, Texas, and Tennessee since 1992. Shannan holds such instructor certifications as ACE Group Fitness, YMCA Group Exercise and Strength Training, Kardio Kombat kickboxing, Black belt in Shito-ryu, Johnny G Spinning Star 3, AFAA Personal Trainer and Adv. Tracy Carlson, My love for hot yoga led me to Jimmy Barkan’s teacher training in July 2011. I spent four weeks in Ft.Lauderdale, where I earned my 200 hour teaching certification recognized by the Yoga Alliance. Yoga practice for me is a moving meditation. I love surrendering to the physical asanas and finding my edge, which changes day to day. When I am on the mat there is nowhere else I’d rather be. I try to take that peaceful mindset with me throughout the day. Yoga encourages me to be present and check in each day with my body and mind.

Jillian Dawson has been an athlete her entire life and has been a personal trainer for over 3 years. In addition, she excelled in softball, gymnastics, cheerleading and dance. She was born and raised in Chattanooga and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Sport Leadership from AuburnUniversity inMontgomery. Jillian has much experience in training athletes, general fitness, weight loss clients and rehab training. Also, she has trained clients who have had varieties of blindness, autism, osteoporosis, arthritis, lupus, diabetes and cerebral palsy. Many of her clients benefit from her extensive knowledge in group training, kettlebells, kickboxing, TRX suspension training, weight training and stamina training. Along with working out and healthy eating, she also finds great joy in changing peoples’ lives on a daily basis, rock climbing, running, cycling and playing tennis with her husband. The Chattanooga Times-Free Press featured Jillian in the newspaper last year about her kettlebell training.


Becky Dempsey BS, CYT Becky has practiced yoga for 20 years and has been a teacher for 15 years. She continues her studies with many of the nation’s top instructors, including Rodney Yee, Erich Schiffman, Brian Kest and Doug Keller. With Sue Reynolds, she established the area’s first Yoga studio, Clear Spring, and, for the past six years, has directed the Yoga Program for the Sports Barn’s three clubs. Having been a student of Anthony Robbins work for the past several years she decided to pursue a life and wellness coaching business bringing to it her education in the yoga field creating a unique approach to coaching. Becky now works from the comfort of her favorite space (her home) and assists women live passionate and joyful lives. Becky is both coached and trained to coach through Anthony Robbins Companies.


Jonathan Ellis Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT) with the Yoga Alliance® and brings a very down-to-earth, personal approach to his classes. Drawing from his own practice and experiences, his classes are a challenging mix of creative flowing sequences built around the framework of an over-riding theme or concept. Infusing his classes with humor, mindfulness and personal observations of how Yoga practice relates to and supports our life off the mat, no two classes are exactly alike. Jonathan's keen eye for alignment and his hands-on adjustments help his students find more ease, space and stability in their Yoga practice. Originally from Chattanooga, Jonathan has spent the last 15 years developing and managing NIKE's worksite wellness center.

Tedovious Fletcher, originally from Chattanooga, Tennessee but lived most of his life in the North Georgia area where he grew up playing sports like football, track and field, wrestling and tennis. Barbara Lucia Major, My yoga practice provides a meaningful way for me to remain present throughout my long days as a stay-at-home-mother, as well as an invigorating way to remain physically and emotionally healthy. I first came to yoga while in college and have been practicing consistently since 2002. Prior to completing a 200 hour Vinyasa Flow training course with Redstone Yoga, I spent a week studying at Bliss Yoga. Teaching is an extension of my practice; a way to share yoga and the beauty that surrounds us. After each yoga practice, I realize what brings me back to the mat: core strength, emotional clarity, and awareness of the divine.

Tammy decided to get back into the fit biz in 2005 and obtained her personal trainer and group-x certifications from the Aerobics and Fitness Association of America (AFAA).
